Founding Partners, Neri&Hu and Design Republic, Shanghai
Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu founded Neri&Hu Design and Research Office, an inter-disciplinary architectural design practice based in Shanghai, in 2004. The firm works internationally providing architecture, interior, master planning, graphic, and product design services, and is composed of a multi-cultural staff that speaks more than 30 languages. The diversity of the team reinforces a core vision for the practice: to respond to a global worldview that incorporates overlapping design disciplines for a new paradigm in architecture. Among their many awards, Neri and Hu were inducted into the Interior Design 2013 Hall of Fame, received the AR Award for Emerging Architecture from The Architectural Review in 2010, and were among Architectural Record’s Design Vanguard in 2009. They are also co-founders of Design Republic, a modern design platform incorporating retail concept, design/cultural exhibitions, and educational events. Both partners received BAs in Architecture from UC Berkeley; Neri earned his M.Arch from Harvard Graduate School of Design and Hu received M.Arch/Urban Planning from Princeton University.
