Director, Grafton Architects, Dublin
With Shelley McNamara, Yvonne Farrell established Grafton Architects in 1978. The firm has won numerous international awards, including the World Building of the Year Award 2008 for the Università Luigi Bocconi, Milan, and is commissioned to design the new Marshall Building for the London School of Economics, as well as the new School of Economics for University Toulouse. Farrell and McNamara were curators of 16th International Architecture Exhibition, titled FREESPACE, for the 2018 Venice Biennale. Farrell received her degree in Architecture from University College of Dublin, where she has taught and is currently an adjunct professor. She has also held the Kenzo Tange chair at Harvard Graduate School of Design and the Louis Kahn chair at Yale University, and was appointed a full professor at Accademia d’Archittettura, Mendrisio, Switzerland, in 2013.
